ECO Studies Program Credits
Carefully selected courses provide students with an enriched platform from which to view and understand the natural world and the tools necessary to become life long environmental guardians. For 2010 the ECO Studies course package has been expanded to include options for students from all four secondary Pathways (Apprenticeship, College, University, Workplace). No matter what your background, if you have an interest in the Environment and want to break free from the confines of the regular classroom, the ECO Studies Studies experience is what you have been waiting for. A brief description for each course in provided below.

Students will gain a more rich perspective from which to view the natural world around them and how it works. Students taking SES 4U will also have the opportunity to explore the vastness of the universe beyond our planet and seek to gain an understanding of Earth's place in the cosmos.
- Environment and Resource Management (CGR 4M or 4E)
Students will learn the basics of ecosystem composition and explore the impact human activity has on the surrounding environment. Emphasis will be placed on the themes of sustainability and management of Earth's resources.
- Outdoor Education (PAD 4O)
This course will foster the leadership skills needed for students to design, develop and implement outdoor activities, promote personal fitness and realize their true potential. Outdoor activities will also strengthen the team-based atmosphere and enhance coordination and implementation of activity based learning in the other three courses.
-
Environmental Science (SVN 4M or 4E)
This course will focus its curriculum on exploring a range of global issues from an Environmental Science perspective. Emphasis on alternative energy sources, Water and Air Quality, use and development of sustainable organic products and discussion of several contemporary environmental issues will further strengthen students understanding of environmental systems
