ECO Studies 2010

ECO Studies is a new and innovative experiential 4 credit integrated program that incorporates leadership training and cooperative learning into an environmentally focused package.

The program focuses on Environmental Science, Earth Science and Geography concepts and is designed to inspire students to achieve their full potential by providing unique opportunities to apply new knowledge in ways not possible within a traditional classroom. Students gain knowledge, leadership skills and industry recognized certifications and training through intensive hands on learning experinces.

Added Value with a Specialist High Skills Major

Through ECO Studies students have the opportunity to complete an Environment Specialist High Skills Major Certification. This new Ministry of Education initiative aims to allow students to gain recognition for attaining expertise in a particular subject area in the form of a specialized diploma and transcript. The certification is quickly becoming recognized by employers and post secondary institutions and gives graduates an edge over competing students once they leave high school.
